Source of Truth

MMV holds the data. Providers work from it.

All crew and payroll data lives inside MMV — not in the provider's system. The Payroll Provider Portal gives authorized providers a structured window into that data: they can view, process, and update what they're permitted to access, and nothing more.

This means your fleet retains ownership and control over all records at all times — even when you change providers.

Payment Controls

Flexibility where operations demand it

Yacht payroll isn't always straightforward. Crew join mid-cycle, banking details need confirmation, and owner schedules affect disbursement timing. MMV's payment controls handle the edge cases.

Held Payments

Defer a crew member's payment to the next payroll cycle. Held amounts are tracked transparently, with a full audit trail showing when the hold was applied and by whom.

Common use: Used when a crew member is mid-join or a banking detail needs to be confirmed before payment.

Advanced Payments

Issue an early payment to a crew member ahead of the normal payroll cycle. The advance is automatically reconciled against the next payroll run.

Common use: Used for emergency situations or crew who request early payment for personal reasons.

Delayed Payments

Schedule a payment for a specific future date rather than the current cycle. Gives management flexibility around cash flow and vessel operating schedules.

Common use: Used when payment timing needs to align with owner disbursement or vessel calendar.

Additional Fees

Add ad-hoc charges to a payroll record — such as equipment damage, uniform deductions, or administrative fees — with a required note for transparency and audit.

Common use: Used for one-time deductions that fall outside the standard wage and allowance structure.

Crew members enter and maintain their own personal and banking details directly. Managers and pursers enter wage data, allowances, and deductions for the period.

Captain / Vessel Review

The captain or vessel manager reviews submitted payroll data for accuracy. Any discrepancies are flagged and returned for correction before moving forward.

Management Approval

The fleet manager or designated approver reviews the consolidated payroll run across all vessels. Final approval authorizes the provider to proceed with processing.

Provider Processing

The payroll provider processes the approved run — generating payments, uploading payslips, and recording outcomes back into MMV. The full cycle is logged and audit-ready.
